I have nothing witty for a title today.....

But, I do have some audio. I dug up an older recording of Texas Flood from back in the summer, recorded at the Grand. Ummm....wow. Stevie Ray would be proud of that kind of blues, in my humble estimation.

I also added a clip of Shake for Me from a few months ago, and That's alright Mama from the same show..I think East Side's in the summer. For all the East Side gig's from the past couple of months, click here.

We did some recording at County Road 8 Studios this weekend, a number of Xmas songs. I'll have those up shortly after some extravagent and expensive post-production work (that's sarcasm). Stay tuned :)

From the UK with love

Sorry I've been a little behind on the posting, but I've had family over from the UK. Thanks again for all the family who turned out last weekend, from far and wide.

The master of arrangement (Keith) tried out "Something in the Air" last night, which sounded more like Eric Clapton than Phil Collins (some would say mercifully....). Really haunting though, and some wicked slide from Kyle. There's also a taste of one of Kyle's favourites, BB King with a groovin' medley.

By the way, for any employees of The City of Kawartha Lakes, we've been confirmed to play your Christmas party on Dec 9th. Speaking of Xmas, here's a little live "Run Run Rudolph" from the other night :)

Peace,

A.

Let there be Audio....

As promised, I've updated the Live Audio section with some sound from the Winchester show. If I may be so bold, I would suggest giving Before You Accuse Me a listen to. Keith and Kyle were doing some really greasy trade-offs between slide and guitar. There is also a little more Johnny Cash and some Boots or Hearts, as well as the requested Love in Vain for my Art Gallery buddy Laura. The full page of Audio from the gig is here.

I also posted video of some Allman Brothers, which features some pretty amazing slide work from Kyle. Feel free to post some comments and let us know what clips you like best? You can even do it anonymously so as to protect the tender feelings of us artist types ;)

Cheers,

A.

Das Winch

Wow, what a great weekend. We had a blast at the Winchester Arms on Friday night. I've posted some media from the show, but I have a lot more to do in the days ahead. There is a new clip of Darren doing some Gord; so good, I had to post the entire thing. But don't miss Keith venturing Into the Mystic with Kyle on slide...killer stuff. I have some great footage of Kyle playing slide on Statesboro Blues which I'll throw on the site later this week. This clip is for my parents, who are likely questioning the years of guitar lessons they invested in me, only to see me playing drums. (What do they call a guy who hangs out with musicians? A drummer. Yeah yeah Keith, I've heard them all.....:) Anyway, it's Darren and I warming up the crowd for the second set with some Hip. I have some more audio coming soon, most notably some "Love in Vain" for my good buddy Laura. Thanks again for coming out by the way!! And thanks to Pierre for the surprise visit through the blizzard, you made Darren's night.

I gotta say, if we sounded tight at the Winch, it was in no small part thanks to Soundman Steve. Buddy, you're as talented as you are handsome :) Seriously dude, great work.

On Saturday we played at the Lindsay Armouries for the City of Kawartha Lakes staff. Thanks so much to Debbie Sackett for bringing us along and setting us up, we had a great time.

Okay, I'm off to a conference for the better part of the week (yes, I still need to work a real job) so I won't be blogging too much for a few days. I'll post some other files soon. Until then......
